Land Positioning SystemHere at UK Land Sales we have a unique Land Positioning System which allows potential buyers to view available plots of land within the context of a real map. The system, which we call LPS, is based on the Microsoft Live Maps system and is built from thousands of satellite pictures. When a seller advertises their land on UK Land Sales they can submit either a postcode or the longitude and latitude of their plot. We use this information to accurately plot the location of their land in our LPS. However, if the seller doesn't know the longitude and latitude of their plot then the system will try to determine the position of the land from their postcode. Due to the inherent inaccuracies with postcode positioning, when this method is used the LPS will only give an approximate location. LPS RequirementsThe only requirement is that you have the latest Flash Player installed on your computer. If the image below reads "Your computer is LPS ready" then you can start using the system straight away. If however the image reads "Flash Player Required" then you need to download the Macromedia Flash Player by clicking here. It only takes a minute to install and is completely free.
Using the LPSThe LPS is very easy to use and the following image explains the controls. In addition to the buttons on the LPS you can also click and drag on the map to navigate around.
The LPS is located on various pages throughout this website, but typically you will find it attached to land advertisments in the land for sale pages. |
